Do you know how good you’ve got it?

Life gets in the way, that’s all there is to it – it gets in the way. It happens. But then again, I know this: I am the only one that gets in my way, and even if I'm not and its someone else or something else, then I know its still up to me how I navigate my way through and how I respond to a situation, person, place, or thing.

Its up to me. Sometimes I feel like I'm deaf, dumb, and blind – all at once, not just now and then – all at blinking once!!

Am I being hard on myself? Nah, not now. Am I usually? Always have been but life also teaches me to lighten up, Lenna. I remember when someone wrote those words to me many years ago, someone I did not appreciate reading it from – nor did I want to admit that they were right. The problem was – them of course. Nah, it was me. I don’t think I even knew how to interpret those words: lighten up.

I didn’t know how that applied and what I had to do to stop the way I was behaving.

Though life is a game changer. It dictates who, what, where, why, and how – and if you're not thinking right, then get ready for some roller coaster rides; some ferris wheel rides, merry-go-rounds, anything that has us here, there, and everywhere – all over the place. Hard to get off and just center and be still.

We all need to be still.

Fast forward a few years, or decades I would say!

After all the bumps, and rides, twists, and turns – life’s challenges have brought me here, right here, where I am today. I did the tough stuff, and there’s more of it but I have a greater sense of my own self and I am very resourceful, self-taught (life-taught), and know what to do when things get tricky.

I had a dream when I was about 12 years old. To be my own boss. Took years to get there, but I am – I am my own boss. I do what I love, and I love what I do. I love being in business. I love interacting with others, collaborating with them, meeting challenges, building relationships, and doing my utmost to assist others, to help them get to where they want to go. I love my team. I love taking care of them. They put in the hard yards.

I built my transcription business from the ground up, didn’t know what I was doing, but I did it. Fifteen years later, here I am. Three major surgeries, here I am. Always had a roof over my head, here I am. Able to assist others – friends, family, strangers – here I am. Built a solid, core team of transcribers – with a diverse range of skill sets, here we are. Two beautiful houses I called home over the last decade and more, sold, still got a roof over me head – here I am.

Last home sold recently; I could not see what was around the corner. I only knew, Lenna, wait. The house will find you. It found me, I let it go because of timing. I wanted it very much, it was beautiful. One week later, it found me. The amazing owner rang me and said, “We can work this out, we can get you in there on time”.

Amazing, moved into my beautiful home – here I am.

All because of ATS – my business, Audio Transcription & Secretarial Services (ATS) – here I am.

All because of ATS, I have a roof over my head, friends, family, strangers that I can assist – all because of ATS. All because of ATS, I can pay my bills, I can travel, I can go to gymnastic competitions with my granddaughter, I can pay her fees every year. i do everything each day, in all of my comings and goings – all because of ATS. It has never let me down.

I was reminded the other day: Lenna, do you realise how good you’ve got it? Life was knocking me about a bit and I needed to be reminded. To be centered, focused, and start paying attention.

All because of ATS I am able to do many things, for which I am very grateful. I know, and I realise, and want to live in that realisation daily, always – all because of ATS.

Dreams come true, magic happens when we believe: “There are unlimited possibilities, unlimited solutions, and unlimited ways to get around every single situation”. ATS is always set right in front of me. Right here, right now, right where I am. I do know how good I have got it. May it always keep me humble and grateful and mindful of others in need.
